There have been many studies and surveys among women in the US concluding the lack of fashionable clothing options available for plus size women. The average American woman is a size 14, but 81% of plus-size women think they’d spend more on clothes if they had better options. Melissa McCarthy has taken a major step to fix this problem with her clothing collection Melissa McCarthy Seven7. The clothing line will include all-size, fashion-forward basics ranging from $54 to $169. The line will be available in major retail stores like Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Lane Bryant. It will also be available online on MelissaMcCarthy.com in sizes ranging from 4 to 28, small to 4XL.
Melissa’s line plans on focusing on finished quality of the fabrics used for production. The sizing will also be different from regular retail brands who usually use models of size 2 or 4, Melissa’s line will include models of size 16 and 22 who are real women. The collection includes trendy pieces which can be mixed and matched.Melissa wanted her collection to be ultrastylish and for women of all sizes. The actress aspired to become a fashion designer as a child, thus she took a lot of interest in all the stages of production and design.
